URBAN Matters
Edited by Ana C. Antunes
Founded in 2010, the Urban Research Based Action Network (URBAN) is committed to strengthening relationships between academics and community-based practitioners, connecting traditionally siloed issue areas, and creating mechanisms to increase scholarly recognition of this work. While the topics and scope of each volume
in this book series will be different, all of them will be linked by the ways in which knowledge production is understood within the network. That means that chapters for each volume are not only be written by university faculty but co-written with community partners, undergraduate and graduate students, and youth. We believe that it is our commitment to include voices that are often excluded from academic knowledge production that makes the URBAN Matters series different than other academic series.
